Have an 05 TL and when my wife went to get in the car she pushed the memory 2 button to move the seat to her position and it wouldn't move. Then she inserted the key in the ignition and the car won't start and all the dash lights keep flicking on and off really fast. I tried with my key and the car won't start either but all the lights on the dash just keep flashing on and off really fast? I wonder if the coding of the keys was somehow lost in memory?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I boosted it and it started. Turn it off and same old same old. Won't start. Strange thing is when the car is off as it won't start and you turn on the headlights, the left light flashes on and off. The right headlight doesn't even come on, but when it starts from a boost then everything seems to work ok. Just wondering if this would be just the battery or an electrical problem???

 

Most likely its the battery thats dead. The headlight is probbly flashing becaused the ballast is powering up then dieing, acting like the dash lights were when you tried to start it. The car stays running after you jump it because the altenator is providing the power. Sounds like either the battery is no good or something was left on overnight.

 

I had the same problem this morning. Got a jump from my neighbor and did a lot of driving today. Battery seems to be okay now.
