How much did a shop want to charge you to change out that starter?

also, in regards to your starter. If you buy one, make sure you get a fair core deposit otherwise rebuild the old one.

 

Acura wanted north of $500 and a local shop wanted about $280. I usually do all my own work but the electrical side can be a little intimidating. When I got those prices that pushed me towards figuring it out myself.

 

$500 parts and labor?? Steep.

 

Wow the bolts mounting the starter to the tranny were torqued to some ridiculous value. It took a 2 foot breaker bar, 1/4 can of liquid wrench and about 2 hours.

 

A friend and I just replaced my starter a couple weeks ago.
Wasn't that hard.
The hardest part was getting rid of the battery holder, etc. so you have enough room to work with.

 

Can anyone tell me if an 07 tls has the same starter as base models. And where is the cheapest place to buy?
