Starter cranking

Starter cranking
Hi, I could not find anywhere complaints about starter cranking. So what happens is sometimes when I turn the key from off position i hear a noise such as "sssszzz" and then car starts. To reproduce it every time, I showed it to Acura dealer by turning the key very very slow, and i mean very slow so that i hear the noise only but car does not start.
Dealers mechanic said this is not an issue, just turn the key faster. He said ever if they replace the starter it won't matter. He said he had a few people come in with this issue and we can't help them. They called Acura Engineering they said and said it's not an issue. I went to Stevens Creek Acura in San Jose, CA.
I have a 2005 TL.
Anybody have this same issue?

I had the same issue and brought it to dealer. they said it was the battery. they replaced the battery, but still encounter the same issue. I was turning the key slowly like you. now I am turning it faster. sometimes I would still hear the ssssszzzz, so I turn it faster. it just pains me to hear that sound. this has always happened to me since I purchased it in 2003.

Same thing happened to me, but very intermittent
Yes, this started to happen to my TL about 4 months ago. Unfortunately I can't duplicate it at will so can't show the dealer service rep anything. Perhaps it is the slow turning that causes this. I try not to do that.
At first I also suspected it may be the battery, since mine is still the original. I see from your comment that swapping a new battery is not the solution.

Happened to me tonight on the way home from Walmart but I did turn the key slower than usual. Seems like it only happens to me ( rarely) if I turn the key slowly.
