Over the past week Ive had this annoying issue arise out of no where. I recently installed my ATLP exhaust so I've been driving in SS mode lately just to enjoy the sound a bit. During random times when I try to upshift from 2nd to 3rd the trans doesnt acknowledge and just stays in 2nd. I have to hit it twice for it to go to third. It only happens with third gear in SS mode. Anyone have any insight about this issue? I would greatly appreciate it.

Just some back ground info about my trans. In June 2011 I had Acura swap out my failing trans for a rebuilt unit from them. About 3 months ago, I swapped out my 3rd & 4th gear switches along with my trans filter for good measure. Ive also done about 3 drain in fills since then. My second trans has about 21k on it, which should still be covered under warranty. Not sure if my issue would be part of that or not.

 

I have been having the same issue. I think that this might just be a design flaw with the transmission. I was reading a review on the TL when the 3G was first introduced. The writer was tracking the TL and noted the same problem. Acura said that the problem would be addressed prior to release but I guess they overlooked it Mine seems to stick in 2nd during moderate to heavy acceleration.

 

^^ Thats exactly when mine does it. It sticks in 2nd and I have to upshift again for it to go into 3rd. Its only happened a handful of times, I hope it doesnt become a habit. I wonder if the dealer will do anything about or if my trans warranty will cover it.
