Question SRS light on dash always on.

I just got an 05 MT TL about a month ago, and I just noticed about a week ago that the SRS light is always on. Except...when my heavy roommate seats on teh passenger seat.

I talked to the dealer in the area they want to see the car, $110 just to look at the car. The car is at 52k miles.

Any comments or suggestions?

Thanks!

Your warranty must have run out...it's up to 50k and then it expires I believe...you could argue or just reason with them to see if they will look at it. My dealer is always nice and willing to negotiate with me!

call acura care at 1-800-382-2238 x5 6am to 5 pm m-f

give them VIN number and ask for a recall check

Gen2 has a special SRS warranty to 150k miles for a faulty sensor, you guys may too!
Ask for a case manager to call you back- thats someone from Corp who can tell you the truth.
The phone person only answers from The Book Of NO, so dont expect anything for info- just see if there is a recall or what the warranty period is for the SRS system

Safety and Smog get extra long warranty past the cars normal warranty

the srs is cover if is a belt. the dealer should have covered it under the vaughn class action lawysuit. which covers the car to 52k and some change.

Excellent point. If your VIN was covered in that lawsuit, then your warranty is good to 52500 on the odometer. The lawsuit proved that the odometer was off by about 5%.

Sorry, couldn't edit quick enough.

You should be covered.
The lawsuit covers 2002-2006 Hondas/Acuras, see #2 of link below
Warranty automatically extended if car sold, see #21 of link:

gen2 TL got a special 10 year /50 warranty on the SRS due to a parts failure issue

Thanks guys for all the response. The dealer actually fixed it for free but my car had to stay there for 3 days because of the incorrect part. I was about 200 miles over 52500 (w/ the extended warranty after the lawsuit) but they still did it. I guess this dealer really need good surveys because that's what they told me to look out for...since they hooked me up. HAHA

Good deal! If you're interested in an Acura Care extended warranty, you could probably still get one if you're that close to the mileage limit.
