Squeaky brakes?

I have a 2006 acura tl with powerstop crossdrilled rotors and ceramic brake pads. They're 1 year old and when I reverse in the mornings or while the car has sat in the morning, they squeak very loud. I used break cleaner to try to fix the problem, and it work for a little bit but not long. What could this be?

let me know!

Regardless of which pad I've put on the car, I've always gotten a little noise in the morning. Goes away (except when I had the piece of shit hawk pads).

Put some synthetic brake grease on the shims and give it a try.

I will try the brake grease, but I am not a DIYer so I dont know where the shims are....

It is not only in the morning when the car is cold. also sometimes when stopping

AT or MT?

Shims are on the back of the pads between the pad and piston(s).

There is an old TSB for squeaky brakes. Remedy is updated pad with a chamfered edge and a different grease for the shims (Brembo grease replaces Molykote 77). But that might be for the MT only.

My brakes have never made a peep.

could be caused by brake dust build up on the shims
