I hear a humming sound in the morning when my I start my car. Does anyone have similar situation? Let me know...

 

If you hear it when you turn on the key and it goes away when you start the car, it could be the fuel pump priming the lines.

If you hear it after you start the car, it could be the cooling fans, which may come on when the A/C is on.

If not these, tell us exactly what the circumstances are when you hear the humming sound.

 

I've got an '06 and it does the same thing like you describe. Also, I notice that when I turn the engine on by turning the key really quick, I hear a loud pop. It sounds like something broke or something (predetonation???). I used to own an 1990 Integra, and it never happen like this. Anyone with any ideas what could have happened? BTW, I notice these events happen only when the weather is warm or when the car's been parked in the sun for awhile. Any ideas, anyone? Thnks!

 

Same thing happens to my TL. when the engine is already warm, and i start it up, it has a pop sound and sounds like it hesitates to start up. Only happens sometimes

 

I'm taking my car into the dealership this Tuesday to have it checked out. I'll keep you guys updated. Just hope that they give me a reasonable explaination, haha.

 

So I took my car into the dealership today explaining that there's pop noise on engine-startup occasionally. The general manager whom I talked to actually acknowleged that he knew of such complaints. He briefly explains that the popping noise coming from the engine could possibly be due engine being heat soaked. He went on to explain that when the engine is hot, there may be some accumulated water vapor, and as a result when the fuel pump is engaged, this could lead to the pop noise that can be heard. I didn't really buy that, but he said that he'll consult Acura rep guy to find out more info. Also, for the buzzing sound heard when key is in the Accessory position. He said that is due to ABS check system. But then I asked him how comes it only does it occasionally, especially in the hot weather, and not all the time. He could not answer that question, but he'll check that with Acura. The other thing I brought my car in for was the rattling noise coming from the driver's side door. The general manager and I actually took a spin around the neighborhood, and he admitted of such problem. He said he'll take care of it. And for me, I'll see to that, haha....As of right now, I'm getting a loaner from them and due back tomorrow to see what they'll find out from my car. Ok, hopefully they can pinpoint the problem, but I hope that they can fix it once and for all.
