I use photobucket. Go to their site. Sign up. Upload the pics. Copy & paste the img code here.

Looks like a valve cover gasket leak. Should be easy to fix if you want to do it.

you can clean it if you want to confirm, but really, the only other oily substance that goes around that area would be from the P/S pump..but that's not really near where that grime is. Since the grime is so far up on the engine it can only be from so many places.

Make sure the seals that sit around the spark plug holes sit properly when you put the valve cover back on.

If you do put a valve cover gasket on it, BUY THE PARTS FROM ACURA. This is one of those parts that you should get OEM.
Get the whole kit <$50. This will cover the valve cover gasket, the holes around the spark plugs etc.

Thanks i really appreciate the help. i may do a writeup on this, while I'm at it I'm going also replace the spark plugs and port and polish the intake manifold. Should i also do a valve adjustment. car has 127,000 miles on it just bought it about 1 month ago. Its a 2006 tl5at.

Another vote for valve cover gasket.

Not sure on the valve adjustment, I'd say if it doesn't tick/tap and runs good to leave good alone. I'm sure it couldn't hurt though if done correctly....

If you have to ask about if you should do a port & polish yourself, you probably shouldn't DIY.

If the valves are ticking, give them a once over.

i mean it doesn't seem too difficult, so i am not allowed to do it if i have to ask if this is something that i would be able to do in my garage? whats the reasoning behind that? Can you do it?

Search the forum and find the DIY. I'll allow that.
