I have an 04 TL and an 03 TL-S and on the 03 when putting the car in reverse the passenger side view tilts down intermittently i cant figure out why it only works sometimes....and on the 04 it does the same thing but with the driver side.......is it customary that only one tilts down and why is it only some of the time

 

I know that it a feature on the 2004+ TL. IF the mirror selector switch (the one for adjustment) is set to the driver mirror, the driver mirror wilt tilt in reverse, if it is set to the passenger mirror, the passenger mirror will tilt town. If it is set on off, then none of the mirrors will tilt down.

 

I had a problem with my driver's side mirror creaking when tilting down going into in reverse.
Dealer replaced the whole mirror assembly under warranty.

 

my laptop has been out for service thats why i never replied but thanx for the input on the 04 ill have to give that a try as for the 03 sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt i guess ill just take it to the dealer and see what they say

 

Mine does the same thing... sometimes it tilts down, sometimes it doesn't... I guess it's back to the dealer again..... (05 TL AM AT Nav)

 

I recently toke my 06 to the dealer for the same reason. They claimed that there was a huge log of codes appearing on the diagnostic machine (relating to the mirrors). They cleared them all out and it works fine now. That was only two days ago though, so I don't know if that's a reliable fix.
