what gears are you experiencing shudder with?
what fluid did you use?
what year is your car, miles, any problems?

Shudder happens from 3rd to 4th gear.

Fluid i use was redline ATF. 1 lightweight racing and 2 racing ATF.

I have an 2005 acura TL with 72000 k miles on it.

Shudder was not that bad before but i did notice it once in a while going from 3rd to 4th gear. now after i change the parts seem like shudder feels stronger and happens more now.

thanks

It probably had the shudder for too long and damaged the clutches beyond repair. This is why I tell people time is so important when dealing with an auto. The only way the fluid and switches can make it worse is when there's basically nothing left of the clutch lining.

In reality, once you experience shudder in the TL, it's game over. So far up to this point we've been very lucky and have cured the shudder and extended the life of the trans in many cases. But shudder is from excessive wear. This is why I stress that the fluid and switches need to be done from an early age as preventative maintenence instead of trying to fix it after the damage has occured.

Is it possible to install the 3rd and 4th switches in the wrong place?

Probably not unless resistance is different for each one.

I can't remember if the electrical plugs are the same or different for each switch.

Yeah, same thing happen to me a year ago.

Tranny is toast, you might have a couple more months to drive on it but eventually it's going to slip badly between gears.

Seems like everyday there is a transmission thread.

Great now i'm debating on doing the other ATF change cuz if the tranny do go out my extended warranty will be void.

They can't void the warranty due to the type fluid you use unless they supply the fluid and the labor to change it themselves. Why do you think VW and BMW offer free oil changes...

I would do the remaining drain and refills. And the important step, that most seem to forget, unhook the battery for 15-20 minutes so it resets the ECU. When you rehook it, the tranny will have to relearn the operating parameters. It will do it on it's own, but it seems to take forever, especially with such a huge difference in the fluid.

See how it is after that.

^^^ Call any Acura dealer with your VIN # and they can help you. Not sure on Navi but with non nav you can hold presets 1 & 6 simultaneously to get the radio code, give the dealer this and they'll hook you up with the code. Then write it down

yeah i just went to myacura.com and found out that the radio code is on the side of the glove box, and the navi code is in the trunk, on the nav unit box.

My shutter isn't between shifts, it's as I increase revs at around the 2K mark.
