Should I have this part repainted or is there a replacement part?

I have no idea what the name of this part is, so I'm just calling it a rear window separator.

[edit] Looks like it may be called a rear window center channel.

As you can see if the pictures it is messed up really bad on this side and a little on the other side.

Is this part easily replaceable? What is the name of the part? Should I just take it to a paint shop and have them fix it?

The cause doesn't matter much, but anyone have any thoughts what can cause this?

Thanks for any advice!

I believe it is replaceable There is a DIY around here on how to remove the rear 1/4 glass in the door, I'm sure that would have some better views of that center window channel watchamacallit.

It's called a sash and it's not painted, it's wrapped. What you see is the wrap getting messed up somehow. I haven't seen anyone complain about those before. Did you drive with something out the rear window? Like lumber or other junk that could have rubbed there and stretched out the wrap?

I think it's #3/10 in this link --> http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no. Pretty cheap @ about $27 each.

If you don't want to replace it yourself then get a shop to do it but don't paint them, replace them.

Perfect Adobeman! Thanks! I have never driven with anything hanging out the window of the car. Heck I won't even let people eat fast food let alone try to cram something inside.

I keep making jokes saying that it is because of how fast I sometimes take the car that it is from the wind resistance at high speed because that's what it looks like. Of course I say it completely kidding as I'm sure that's not the cause but I really don't know what caused it.

$60 for both isn't bad though. It looks bad enough to invest that much for repair.
