Shifting Problem-07 TL S

I just got a new TL type S (automatic) about 2-3 weeks ago. Not sure if its supposed to be like that but it gives you a little jump or a small jerk as it is shifting gears. Even though its an automatic, kinda feels like a manual (without shifting the gears urself)

anybody had this problem?

I have a manual, so I don't know if this will help, but I do notice it has a tendency to "pop" into gear (especially 2nd or 3rd)

how many miles are on the car? Did yoou recenlty change your drving style or the roads on which you travel? (more city than highway, 25 MPH instead of 55MPH)

My new TL-S has about 1300 miles on it and I think I know what you mean. I didn't really classify it as a problem - I think that's just the way the transmission works in this car. My '05 TL didn't do it, though, but I thought I read somewhere that this is a different transmission (maybe the same one that's in the RL??)

My automatic Tl-S does not do that - very smooth gear shifts. I have 1400 miles on it. Only thing that I noticed was that when slowing down at about 20 MPH, you could feel a harsh downshift. That has gone away once I put about 1000 miles on the car.

the cars computer is supposed to get used to the way you drive after a couple hundred miles, maybe 1000 miles. What I would do is check the fluid to make sure it is at appropiate levels. I would also call the dealership and ask the Service Manager for an appoinment to see if it is a mechanical issue, a software issue or just something that will go away with some milage. Good luck
