How to stop chrome rims for peeling?

Curb damage started a peel and i need to prevent it from spreading. Any ideas? I have heard clear coat touchup paint and nailpolish.

I have no clue but how does nailpolish help if I may ask. Wouldn't it remove the chrome? I can see someone using it to remove the chrome that's not bonded to the rim. Chrome is caused by chemical rxn of compounds which then is "layered" on top of the original rims?

i dont know about taking off the chrome but i am told that this will keep the moisture from getting under the chrome and causing the peeling to spread.
