Try searching. Most likely you have one of two things... 1) a bent rim or 2) an unbalanced wheel.

What quake said. My money is on wheel(s) out of balance.

But seriously too, slow down. No need to drive on public roads at 100+ mph.

Find a 1/4 mile strip or road course with HDPE/Open track or a local SCCA/NASA autocross and let it rip there.

Don't be a pansy. Push on through the shakes and it will all smooth out around 125.

Worn tires, balance, bent rims, worn joints... in that order.

Is this after you had the wheels rebalanced?

Please don't disregard the driving slow comments as an excuse to do it again and post the same findings.

When your wheels are getting balanced the machine only runs up to 50 mph give or take. Intill that point your wheels are balanced. If your doing 110 your doing double the speed that those wheels are rated to be balanced at.

What can make your car shake so bad.. a number of things

1. Unbalanced wheels
2. Bad tires, shifted belts in tires (If this is the case, start making a will tonight incase you decide it's best to do 110 again)
3.Bad axles
4.Badly warped rotors (Yes as they heat up they will cause vibration with or without the brakes)
5. Bad motor mounts

Check the condition of the tires before asking a dealer or private shop to balance all 4. It's important to set the correct tire pressure which is 32 psi. If it's been at least 20k since the last alignment now would be a good time including the balance and tire pressure being set to do an alignment. Last but not least, avoid driving reckless.

Have you changed anything yet? Have you done what the others suggested in the first few posts?

Have them balance the tires. If they're unable to balance, start looking for bent rims. If they can balance but it still shakes, look for worn suspension.

Dude, when trying to solve a problem, you have trouble shoot or deduce from observation.
so lets go through the list.
- balanced tires.
still vibrating
- bent rim
still vibrating.

fix the bent rim and see if it still vibrates.
Common sense, common sense.

You should rotate & balance wheels/tires every 7500 miles.

You should only have to balance if you replace the tires or lose a weight.

What we are telling you do is stop being reckless and endanger innocent people's lives. If you want to go fast please to it in a controlled environment. No offense to you, but do you know what to do if something happens at 110 MPH? How to control the car? How to avoid hitting something? If not, I suggest you go out for some classes where they show you with a real world car like a viper on a wet track.

As far as your problem, there are a few things you should try. First off, where are you feeling the vibration? The steering wheel? Seat?

In any case, Go to a tire shop that uses a HUNTER ROAD FORCE BALANCER. Make sure your rims are cleaned well before you get them balanced. Tell the shop you want them balanced as good as they can get them. A few grams off isn't acceptable!

The shop will also be able to tell you if you have a bent rim. If you do have one, try and see if you can borrow a full sized wheel from someone near you and see if it vibrates. If it doesn't, problem found! If it does, you going to have to look into the suspension components.

Having the tires balanced does wonders. I had the same issue and it was night and day once it was fixed.

I'm a NJ resident & I have driven on the NJ turnpike thousands of times. Although I drive at about 75 mph I can assure you that 110 mph is BARELY staying ahead of the left lane pack of A holes. 90 mph+ is common in the left lane of the NJ pike. I've seen it all on that dangerous highway over the years, aggressive drivers weaving in and out of lanes, tailgating etc.
My friends brother is a NJ trooper and I can assure you Laser is being used often on the pike.

To be fair, and to up the post count , the NJTP is one of the most aggressive highways I've ever been on. I used to normally drive it at 80-85, and consistently get tailgated, brights flashed at me, etc etc if I don't get over immediately to one of the center lanes.

OK! let's start off with Me. I personally do not drive fast at all. I do the city speed limit (30) (50 Hwy) EVERYTIME! I am a carefuuuuulll driver and obey all the LAWS. I personally have no points for anything not even 1 speeding ticket. All I am trying to do is ask you people for a little bit of help. 1 I did the wheel balance nothing happened. 2 I changed the Rim 2 weeks ago it is still not better.

I replied in your axle/trans leaking thread a while ago. Did you ever get that resolved? A worn bushing in that area will cause vibration and leakage past the seal.

experienced the same problem and in my case it was balancing issue....my car used to vibrate at 65-75 and at 80 it was pretty stable and vibrations began again from 90mph+....

it was time to dump my tires anyway so I went ahead and got new tires + balancing + alignment and she was as smooth as new

Just came back from my mechanic's and we found couple of issue's. 2 of the Rims that I just got are actually bent! (My friend messed up buying the rims for me) Yes I know I should have gotten them myself. My tranny mount is ripped and loose, and my front motor mount isn't that good either. Last but not least the front left Axle has some minor dmg. I'm going to replace all rims and tires with ADR M-Sport 18" and Falken Azen1s S-115 Tires, do a wheel alignment and wheel balance. Then I will change the 2 Mounts, if it still shakes I will replace the Axle. When that's going to be done I will drive down to CT get my XLR8 J-pipe, get PCD and H&R Springs.

Also curious of the update. My 04 tl (6mt) shakes around 70-75. I have replaced all mounts, no change. The dealer has had it 3x and cannot figure it out, they said it had to be a wheel. I had them re-balanced and rotated, no change. I changed my stockers for my 19" ronjon's, same issue.

My last plan is to swap the axles, which is not going to be fun.
