Are sever rattles really common? Shopping for a TLS..

So how common are the severe rattles? I come from driving a 2000 Accord V6 coupe...and honestly at 90K miles now the car is really solid...the only rattle I get now is the sunroof a bit..sometimes..

In thinking if I managed 5 years in the honda, going to a TLS will be heaven..but I keep hearing negative stuff and its making me weary..

Thanks for any feedback on your ownership experience with your TL or TLS!

I'm coming up on 3000 miles on my '08 TL Type S, and I haven't got a rattle yet. The trunk seal howled, but I fixed that myself. No other complaints so far.

I will be honest, there are a few rattles, but they are all easily fixed. The most common one is the rear shelf, the sub-woofer rattle, that is caused by the bass hitting hard enough to vibrate it, a little foam under there fixes it, the dealer is aware of this and will do it if you tell them that it rattles. The other ones are the 2 flippy compartments, which is also fixed by foam, but was fixed in the 2007 revision by foam being applied by the factory. no one reports of that now. It;s just basically that deck rattle.

you have to be kidding, I have on 07TLS and it is a rattle box

1) Driver side vent rattles, had it fixed twice.
2) Center speaker rattles, had it fixed once
3) Center console compartment under radio, had to be replaced.
4) Check the post but the rear end rattles like a SOB. Had struts replaced, tie rods (twice) and busshings. Much better but still makes noise.
5) Rear deck rattles as posted earlier.

I've had my 08 WDP TL-S for a couple of months now. I've heard a couple of intermitant rattles or vibrations, but nothing really. Very pleased with it so far and I just went over 3k miles.

Our 2002 Accord V6 coupe with 90K miles seems silent compared to our 2005 TL with 30K miles.

my shit rattles like a sack of nickels on a washing machine.

best part is the inconsistency of the rattles, one morning it's the dash, one afternoon it's something by my left ear, every day all day it's the visors.

its like any other car....a few rattles here and there....i have tracked mine down and fixed myself mostly....the car is soo quiet that you will hear every little creek...unlike your accord which has enough wind and road noise at highway speed to drown out the minor rattles...atleast thats how my accord was....dont get fooled into thinking that some how the accord is a superior vehicle to the tl type s...its not...

9000 miles now and only a headliner rattle that won't go away and no one can find. My '05 rattled like crazy, however...

My '05 has 35K miles on it and has never had a serious rattle in normal driving or stereo use.

It had a slight, very intermittent squeak from the driver's side window which went away immediately upon wiping the weatherstripping with 303 Aerospace protectant.

Keep in mind that many people on auto forums will often be there due to problems, so complaints will be overrepresented here on AZ, compared to those in Consumer Reports surveys, for example.
