Serpentine Issue?
Serpentine Issue?
Okay, so I have a serpentine issue that might qualify me for a Darwin award or something. I was driving along the highway and had my pet snake in the cup holders with the cover over it. I opened it up and let the guy slither out, but he started to wrap around my shifter so I had to chuck him in the passenger seat. He chilled there for a second then started to go down between the seat and center console. I figured the worst-case scenario was that I'd spend a few minutes unwinding him from under the passenger seat, but when I got home I couldn't find it. I felt all around under the seat and then slid the seat all the way forward and found a moderately sized vent under it. Stuck my fingers in and sure enough, felt the snake. I tried to blow it out with the A/C and it was working but when I went to snag him he slid back into the vent and off to wherever. Can anybody tell me where the vent goes to or where a good spot to get into the system is? I really don't want to sham up the interior.
What a great story for a 1st post~
Pet snake in the drink holders makes its way into the air duct to the rear seats. LOL
That duct goes back and connects with all the other vents
You may try removing the cabin air filters (see DIY) behid the glovebox, that is a main large place to hang out- with the blower motor there too, or just run the ac on full and see if that does the trick.

Sorry, this story gave me the willies really bad. The though of a snake in my ventilation system is unacceptable... haha..
Maybe make some mouse noises in the back seat, see if he comes out for dinner? Wouldn't the AC just make him want to sleep? Perhaps try the heat to get him all frisky.

Good news... I took the passenger seat out, the carpet, the glovebox, and took the duct that runs under the seat back to the center console by means of the left kick panel... took the duct out and shook it around... no snake. My friends wanted to go play tennis so I put everything back together and threw all the floor mats in the passenger rear footwell. When I got back from playing tennis I went inside and had lunch and went to go home before it started storming, so I got in, put the keys in the ignition, and slapped up the floor mats. I grumbled and went to start the car, but when I did a doubletake I saw its tail. So I went over and I guess he had gotten too toasty in the car 'cuz he was completely out of the vent and curled under the floor mats.
