Serious Wear on Tires

I noticed that the inner and outter rims of my front tires are wearing unusually fast. I just bought new tires about 8 months ago, good tires at that. I drive the car hard, but was told by my mechanic that my driving habits aren't contributing much to this problem. He recommended that I get an allignment soon. Can anyone tell me what may be causing this extreme wear?

Could be low air pressure. What pressure are you running in the front? When was the last time you checked it?
AT or 6MT?

Otherwise, listen to your mechanic....

.... and go to Firestone and buy their lifetime alignment deal. Look for a coupon on their website first.

City driving, turning corners too fast, alignment, low tire pressure.

Just the outer edges is classic low inflation.
