do you have the wrinkles from where the seat connects to the latch hooks, too? Those don't look like they're ever gonna go down in my back seat. My back seat looked very good until the first time I had to pull it for suspension work. damn Acura for not making fold down seats.

check out what this guy did towards the bottom of this thread

I had a local business (Dr. Vinyl) fix my front seat after someone scratched the hell out of it. I couldn't believe it after he finished. It looks like nothing ever happened to it. He trimmed the scratched leather, filed it smooth, applied some filler and a texturing paper, then sprayed it with some black dye. It looks great. I already knew about him from the corporate jet business Iwork for. I had seen him fix brand new headliners and window panels many times. He charged me $60. Well worth it.

Sorry I don't have a "after" pic, but just imagine that seat without the scratch. You really can't see where it was scratched. I could see some dye overspray at first, but that wore off very quickly.

I hate using the flash on this kind of stuff, but it's late at night and in the garage. The scratches are not visible anymore, although it looks like some small cracking going on. This is a year and a half AFTER the repair was done. And the car now has 111k miles on it. I looked really close at that seam on the bolster and I think I could see where it was scratched. I'd have to get the old picture and compare it to really find the damage. And only on the piping/seam.

Here's another shot:

I think another shot of black dye would cover those cracks pretty well, but the bolster really looks like the rest of the seat. And the Flash makes the cracks really shine. It doesn't look bad at all in person. I'll try to take a shot in the daylight sometime.

Yeah, a buckle of some sort. Don't tell my girlfriend, but SHE DID IT. She held her purse over there the whole ride home after a long night of (her) drinking. I looked at her purse after I found the damage and wanted to kill her.

Make her make it up to you

I agree with the other poster that got his scratch fixed. Get it done, you won't regret it.

Not sure where to get it. The guy that repaired my seat had a whole bunch of colors. He did the repair with some kind of paste, then textured it a little with a special texture paper. Let it dry, then sprayed the entire area with the dye. He had the dyes in preval sprayers. It's just a thin paint that he sprayed on the entire area to blend it. I could see the overspray for a few days/week, but it has since worn off and you can't see it anymore.

It's not a 'dye' per say .. it's acrylic (water based) paint.. It's the same thing I did for my rear door panels & center console. The basic process is to fill the area with a hardener to smooth it out and use a texture surface to match surface contour then heat to mold.. then apply the 'dye' to blend it in.. I used a repair kit (AutoZone) and instead of paying big money on a 'professional' dye I took in a sample of leather and had it paint matched in acrylic, the hardest choice is finding the exact finish.

Before

After

I've been meaning to ask, how does it feel when you rest your arm on the armrest? Is it still cushy like faux leather or does it feel like dried paint...like it's stretching?

lol...reminds me of a couple months ago. I was dating this girl a couple months ago when as I was dropped her off. As she got off the car, her bag slipped off her shoulders, and she caught it between her and my passenger side door. Good thing nothing happen to my car, no scratch whatsoever. Atleast it was a happy ending..lol...

ok this is gonna sound silly but dont laugh i swear it works!!

SHOE POLISH

If its just a scratch try using some shoe polish on that area. Obviously if its a deep scratch the polish will not fill it in but if you are looking for a quick fix it will make it less noticable. I've done it on my tl's backseats and on my leather furniture and I swear it works

nah, if you get a good shoe polish and you use it correctly it wont transfer.
If you are going to try this i suggest you read the instructions. Also I normally just rub over the area with a cloth when I am done to make sure it wont transfer but I have never had a problem and I am using black on my interior and my furniture
