Running rich? No CEL

07 TL
Can smell the car is running rich, checked the spark plug they look perfectly normal, my "tighten fuel cap" msg came on so changed the purge valve
No CEL, I don't have loss of power either, actually runs better, but waste more gas...I was thinking egr valve...if it is what can I clean it with?
Kind of stressful not knowing what it is..
Thanks

best thing to do is get a hookup on the OBDII port and see what the A/F ratio is according to the sensors on the car.

Have you run a fuel cleaner at all? Dirty injectors can cause fuel to not atomize properly leaving fuel unburnt. What's the mileage?

yea I put a Lucas cleaner, that comes in the small bottle last fill, put another with my half a tank I have now, and I just got a sea foam, so when I run to empty Ima fill it up compelety again and put seafoam in it.

There's no misfiring (at least to my knowledge, and I feel everything when I drive or sit at an idle) that's happening, so I would believe if it was a injector it'll misfire, no?

when is the last time spark plugs were changed? 105K is the usual time they are changed. Also when is the last time you got a valve adjustment?

I changed the spark plugs with the last oil change, no more than 2k on them I check those and they seem to be perfect, and was thinking of getting my valves adjusted but motor is quiet, I'm starting to think something with exhaust (resonator, cat converter)
