Rubber moulding/strip for A-Spec kit

Hi all,

Does anyone know the actual colour of the rubber moulding/strip that connects the A-Spec kit to the front and rear bumpers.

I was sure that the strip was clear, but I just ordered a new one from Acura after a body shop painted over the old strip.

The one I received from Acura is black. Is this the right colour?

See pics below to see which part I'm referring to - it's the little rubber strip between the body kit and the actual bumpers:

Thanks!

On the white aspec lip, the molding is gray.

OEM part number is 08F03-SHJ-1200D

Don't go to that body shop again. They're terrible for painting over it. A good body shop would have taken that off, bought a new one, and reapplied the new lining after painting the bumper and A-spec kit.

I was gonna say, there are different variants depending on the kit...
I think black would likely look good on any of them...I currently don't have that installed and the lip is fine.

Thanks Tyrone! The haven't started working on my car yet so maybe there's time to get the correct part, although part of me thinks that the contrast between the black molding and the white lip would look good.

Way ahead of you garthumpy! Horrible job, will never go to that shop again!

I'm thinking the same thing as well. Would be interested in seeing the A-Spec lip without the molding. Care to share a pic?

@M.I.N.O. oh you'd like to see a pic, huh? fuckin perv.
dude, my lip was ghetto painted by previous owner but i couldn't stand to bear
having the rear one on with no front...looked whack so I slapped it on...missing most hardware
and held on with rtv and some roofing strap metal I fabbed into a bracket.

Hard to tell on black...

Ok great, thanks for the pics! I'll explore this possibility with the body shop, but they'll probably recommend using the moldings since they're still available...

What color molding strip was used on the CBP Type S aspec front lip from the factory? Black or grey?

Pretty sure, no matter the color of the car, the weather stripping is black.

That's not true. The WDP type s lips come with a grey molding.
