Replacing Steering wheel bulbs

Anyone know what bulbs or how to replace the bulbs that light up the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel? None of the buttons light up anymore. Thanks.

man that sucks! My HFL bulbs went out, I thought it was a fuse but sure enough there were bulbs in there. I had the dealership fix it since my car was there anyway, they said they had to take the whole steering wheel apart...I was afraid to mess with the airbag good luck

My dealership won't cover this under warranty.

I was quoted $10 ish for each bulb and $60 ish for labor

I've just learned to live with it... til someone on here posts a nice DIY tutorial

My volume and channel buttons dont light up anymore. Dealer quoted me at $175 for labor to take the airbag out. No way in hell I'm paying that much. Found a thread on here how to take the airbag out. Im going to attempt to do this tomorrow. Just hoping the airbag does not deploy.

Jus disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes and dont throw the bag on the floor. Place it with the ACURA logo up.

Word. Its very easy to do and with very little care and some common sense....fairly safe at the same time.

#1. there covered under warranty
#2 when you replace one in that componet, please replace them all. trust me ,you will
pull a radio out to replace a bulb, put it all back together and two more blow out.
#3 when you buy a bulb, take it in with you. they are different. some are blue, green, brown or black at the bottom. they may look the same but there not. all the contact points are different, so be alert.

I agree with 240sx acura tech about other bulbs going out after you replace the others. I just took my car in for a new 3rd gear (different problem) and to replace the light for the heated seat button. Got my car back today and that light works, but now my cruise buttons don't light up. So back to the dealership 2morrow.

I also agree that they must be covered under warranty cause I didn't pay a dime for a replacement bulb or the labor or for the 3rd gear.

Went back to the dealership. Those bulbs are definitley covered under warranty. I asked the service manager specifically if the were covered and he said yes. It took an hour and a half to get it done. All lights now work.

NCTL05 How many miles do you have on your TL? I have 51k and they told me my acura certified warranty doesnt cover this, since my orginal warranty just ended.

umm. Well I just bought the car last week so my acura certified warranty is still good. But I also have bumper to bumper and drivetrain warranties up to 100,000 miles. My car has 53,000 miles on it.
