Replacement seat cover

Didn't see a place for a question like this but I'm looking to replace the LH lower seat cover as the dry desert environment has killed mine. I got a quote from a local shop for around $650. $450 of that is labor. It seriously can't be that hard to replace. The heater still works but the foam underneath the cover is pretty much done also. Anyone replaced it before and if so, where did you get the replacement cover? Thanks!

Go to an upholstery shop and have them quote you on just replacing the cover and adding foam

That wasn't an OEM ?

Look elsewhere? I've gotten quotes ~$250-$300

Other approach is to just go to a junkyard

Going through this now, just ordered new skins for 2 cars. I did get labor only quote in my area, DC, and its stupid too much, >$800 for 3 seats again NOT including product. Looks like average in my area is $100/hr and 3 hr job. Looks like I have a DIY session coming up.

When I had to repair the side bolster and forward lower panel on my driver's seat I went to the junkyard and bought an entire lower back seat cushion for 50 bucks, stripped the leather from it, removed the driver's seat covers and took it into a marine upholstery shop(off season right now so likely cheaper). He charged me $80 to sew in the patches from the donor pieces I had from the junkyard back seat.
