Replaced HFL module and new one drains battery overnight too, wtf?

A year ago I was having discharge issues, put amp meter in series with battery, numbers added up to HFL issue. Unplugged it, drain went away, problem ceased.. Last week I finally bought a new one from Acura and stuck it in, problem is back immediately. Unhook battery, wait, flip headlight switch to discharge any stored charge, .6amp drain. Unhooked HFL module, down to around .1amp.

So how common is it to replace the HFL module and still have it drain the battery? Date on it is 6-5-13, so it wasn't like a new old stock pre 200? that may have had the original issue.

Discussion welcome.

Did you wait at least 35 minutes after turning the ignition off to test the HFL? If not, test the draw from the HFL after 35 minutes have passed.
The HFL has a built-in delay of 30 minutes after ignition turn-off before the HFL shuts down, as stated in the manual.

The other question is, if the battery died after replacing the HFL, how old is the battery?

Battery is couple years old, not the original. I didn't wait 35 minutes, I had assumed that unhooking the battery would kill the HFL regardless, and pulling headlight switch on would discharge any sort of capacitive voltage anywhere else in electrical system.

Will re-approach it tonight with 35 minute criteria. However after going more than a year with absolutely no trouble (with original HFL unhooked), only change made to car was finally putting a new one in, and discharge problems immediately returning, that it's the HFL (again)..

Will check back tomorrow after revisiting the car tonight. Will have battery tested to rule out the coincidental possibility..
