Refreshing the silver trim on doors

I have been resurfacing the silver trim in the car because it's all dinged up. The dash and center console are done, but I have yet to get to the doors.
I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out, but it didn't look immediately obvious to me how to pop it off. Do I need to take the door panel off first, and unscrew it from the rear? Or does it just pop off?
Any help is appreciated!

Take off door panel first and unscrew from behind.
