Rear ended now battery drains after repair..
Hi everyone! I was rear ended pretty badly in my 05 Acura TL the end of April. Was about $5k in damages. Got the car back but they told me they were needing to jump it. Got the car home and went out the next day to go to work and it was completely dead. They towed it back and replaced the battery, but mentioned they had to do wire work on one of the tail lights. Fast forward to yesterday...same thing, car is completely dead and i had driven it the day before. Its not my altenatir as i just had everything checked on my car. They are trying to say that a rear end collision couldnt have caused this but ive read it could be wiring from a trunk light or something that wasnt done correctly thats causing it to drain. Any info/advice?
Thanks

They need to run a parasitic current check by hooking a multi-meter across the battery and then pulling the breakers for the tail lights. Another culprit could be the HFL and/or the NAVI (if you have NAVI).

Disconnect your HFL by unplugging it and see if the power drain stops. You simply pop the cover off of the overhead console and disconnect a plug. There are instructions in the Audio forum on how to do this. 5 minute job, max.
