Interesting transmission problem...

Recently I have noticed that my transmission feels as if it isn't finding the correct gears at higher speeds. Also, the trans seems to miss downshifts all of the sudden. I had the trans fluid changed during my 105k mile service and it seemed to temporarily fix the problem.

What I noticed today while playing with manual mode was this....

1st gear- Floor it, car takes off and revs to redline
2nd gear- same thing
3rd gear- same thing
4th gear- floor it, car barely responds, wont rev past 2900-3000rpms
5th gear- same as gears 1-3

Previously, I remember using 4th gear a lot to make a quick pass on the highway because it always pulled the hardest.

Im wondering if this could explain why my trans has felt "off" recently. Could one gear go bad? I dont know much about transmissions and a search didn't yield any results on this particular issue.

If you keep flooring your car in 3rd and 4th gear on the highway you're going to need a new trans

for a 5 speed automatic 3rd gear is going to pull the hardest on the highway (60mph +) , not 4th gear

3rd gear also pulls very hard too, there is no doubt. However, 4th gear usually will give me what I need

I scheduled a trip to the dealer Monday morning. Its still under warranty so it cant hurt. I hope they find something, I would like to actually enjoy driving this car again.
