Rear bumper paint pealing

I need some help here... There is a part on the rear bumper where the paint is pealing off.. This is where the bumper and the rear fender (not sure if called like that) meets.. right below the rear side mark... I was touching it a little bit when the paint came off completely and you could see the plastic part..
The thing is I had some scratch repairs (scratches where you could see the black part) on the other side of the bumper by a local body shop... Does anyone know if repairing scratches like that requires painting the whole bumper again?? Is this complainable to acura or to my body shop??

Thanks..

Looks like the surface under the paint was not properly prepped so the paint did not adhere properly to the bumper.

I've got the same problem in the same place...haven't gotten very far with Acura. I have had no aftermarket paint work done.

Did they try to fix it?

The color that's under the paint, is it the same tone as your cars color or is it another color?

I want to know if repairing scratches requires painting the whole bumper all over again or just some minor paint on the part where the scratch was.

Call the body shop and ask them if they repainted the entire bumper....and go from there.
Good luck

So, do you think I should give it a try at the dealership??
I went to a body shop and they told me that usually when repairing a scratch they apply clear bra to the whole part...

So any other opinions??

Probably a manufacturer paint defect then. You can try with Acura but you may get a lot of push back. Maybe talk to the regional rep to see if they will goodwill it for you.

I checked the car again today and there's some over spray of paint on the plastic part over the exaust and some on the mud guard too... I always thought it was some of the polish stuff but I guess it wasn't

Now I'm kind of f.. up I guess....right?

Me too

I was washing my 05 TL yesterday and noticed the exact same paint peeling on my bumper. Purchased my car new from the dealer 18 months ago - never been painted etc.

It appears that its an issue with the paint.

I noticed the same thing when I was installing the bodykit. Mine was small enough so touch up paint was all I need.

But if your bumper was repainted, the bodyshop should take care of the problem.
