Rattle under load from front drivers side suspension...

Title pretty much says it all. It started only under load when the wheel was turned (either way but moreso turning left) then it slowly got a little louder and then finally it pretty much does it all the time going straight too. It doesn't make any noise when driving say highway speeds, just when starting out or when under load in 1, 2, 3 gears.

It's like a tick tick tick or shudder even. I had the car up on a lift Wednesday and saw no leaking boots, torn boots, or loose bolts and nuts.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Chad

I *think* I have figured this out. I believe the lower mount point on my CAI is loose or off. That would make the most sense. Just thought I'd say something.

GL finding what it is, iirc another members sway bar bushing bolts were ever so slightly loose, causing a weird noise.

It was indeed the CAI! We pulled the bumper off to get a better look. The edge of the frame where the CAI slips through by the fender (kind of a rougher thin area of the frame) had been grinding into the CAI tube. Even though the CAI was properly installed. It actually almost ate THROUGH the CAI tubing. It was that bad.

Our solution? We took some spliced air or water hoses from a dead motor and ran it around that rough edge of the frame then some thick felt padding and then zip tied it in (there are good holes for zipties). Then we put felt on on the CAI tubing. Problem solved!

Hell the tubing looked so good I would almost advise anyone doing a CAI to just go ahead and do it. Especially with aem v1s....
