Rattle Issue Again!

I keep coming back to visit the rattle problems posted in this forum. I have posted my 2008 TL rattle problems here before and would again like to share some of my TL rattle problem with you. Also would like to hear your opinion.

Rattle 1 (new): Steering wheel rattle from the spring. I can simulate it by tapping the steering wheel from the lower side. Sent to the dealer and they said it is the spring and they could not do anything.

Rattle 2 (old): passenger side door. Only when the temperature is high such as 60F and above or under sunshine for a while. Noise coming from a few places but can not be detect exactly where. Put some rubber band on top of the glass and close the widow. It reduced the rattle noise a lot but not completely.

Rattle 3 (old): This one may not be called rattle. Driver seat noise like leather rubs against leather when the temperature is high and especially under sun for a while. Very annoying.

Rattle 4, 5, 6 ………………..

r1. it can be fixed , they just don't what to. its the cover or the air bag is loose.

r2. role the window down. clean and lube the run channel. clean the window.
if you smoke in the car you will need to do this once a month.

r3. the seat cover is rattling aganist the belt . they should be able to take care of this at the dealer.

that first one can definitely be fixed. I had it twice and just told the dealer to tighten the airbag screws in the steering wheel. that fixed it both times, pretty easy. they'll give you the "oh its the airbag" talk but eventually they just fixed it for free

R2 comes from the lower part of the seat back - more like the leather rub against the surface in side the seat back.

R1: What kinds of silicon? I used the spreading one, it did not work. Should I use something paste-like?

Jesstzn,

Does it have other name? I told (even spell) the name silicon emulsion to a few dealers including Honda/GM. They all do not know what it is. Can you post a picture or link from any web?

thanks.

Tried different dealers including hummer/chevy/honda/.... and showed the picture to them. All said they did not have or seen it before. Therefore went to NAPA and got a tube of lubricant silicon which labled for break, rubber with temp from -20F to +600F. Can I use this instead of silicon emulsion?
