Some time back, my wife noticed that the doors on the 04 TL were not locking. Sometimes, when you pushed on the fob, the doors would lock, other times, the doors would lock and then unlock. We noticed that while the doors would not unlock, the windows would not roll down. So, if the rear driver door would not unlock, that window would also not roll down.

If after you got into the car after starting it, the same rear driver door that failed to unlock, now would unlock by either using fob or driver door unlock button, and the window would also roll down.

I have read the post about replacing the actuator, but i'm wondering if there isn't a bigger electrical problem. I'm afraid to go to the dealer as I've never had good luck with them. It always seems like a guessing game with the dealer.

 

Does this happen with both fobs? Trying to rule out low fob battery.

 

yes.. it happens with both fobs. Also, happens if i use the door lock/unlock switch on the door.
