I need to replace Rack + pinion on my 2005 Acura TL with only 45,000 miles, very weird thats this is the problem. The closes Acura dealership is 3 1/2 hours away!!! does anyone know the part number for this, and do I need any hardware or other parts???

How do you know that it is bad?

 

If you really do need a new rack, get the part from bernardiparts.com. You'll pay $390 with them instead of $530+how much ever they mark up on top of that. This is something an independent mechanic should be able to do. Whoever does it, make sure an alignment is done after the replacement.

 

When my car is parked I am pulling out of the drive way in clicks really bad. It also does it when its parkedif I move the wheel to the left or right it does the clicking noise!

 

There are two components that are much more likely to fail before the rack will. Do yourself a favor and have a mechanic diagnose the problem. He'll most likely find inner and/or outer tie-rods that need to be replaced.

im going to my dealer for my 7th replacement lol

 

<---- 4 P/S Pumps, 1 r/p + all lines

 

nice i still have the original lines.....i know thats whats ruining the rack n pump.... contamination particles. its so funny cuz in the 07-08 they put coolers in line for the P/S setups.
