Question on 08 Tl 5AT

Good Afternoon all,

So I've owned the car for 5 years now without issue but have had a question in my head the whole time. Is it normal to feel the automatic shifting gears? This is the first automatic I've owned (knee surgery has robbed me of my clutch pressing abilities). I have driven a few automatics before for a couple days but all of them being American. When driving the American cars, if I wans't looking at the RPM I'd never know which gear I was in, shifts were smooth and unnoticeable. In the TL, I feel a bump forward or backward when the gears shift or when coming to a stop I can feel the car downshifting. The shifts are crisp, no hesitation, no abnormal delay when changing from reverse to drive. All that to say, is it just normal in these cars to be able to feel the up and down shifts? I changed the pressure switches and have done the 3x3 and nothing really changed and the mounts from what I can see seem to be in good shape which leads me to believe its normal just have never experienced this before. Is it just how the 5AT opperates or is it starting to fail? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

I'd start with maintaining your fluids and transmission pressure switches

DIY can be found in the garage here:

Read somewhere that the car was pre-factoried tuned to have these noticeable shift points especially in the higher RPM range. Acira made the car as a luxury sports sedan, so these crisp shifts are suppose to add to the sporty feel.
