Progress RSB

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone !

I was trying to install the Progress RSB this morning and after almost getting one of the nuts off, I stripped the allen bolt.
The other side went pretty smooth, I ended up putting things back together and the stock RSB is still on, but one of the sides is now loose and im a bit worried about it....
Is there anything I can try to do myself to fix the situation or do I have to bring it to the shop ?

Gotta replace it. With the allen head stripped, I think your new best freind is:

It's pretty common and cutting the old links off is (iirc) usually the path to resolution. You can try search for other threads where members have had the issue.

Edit:

If you got the nut most of the way off, you might be able to grab the exposed part of the bolt with Vise-Grips and get the nut the rest of the way off.

Regardless, I think you'll need to replace the end-links. Some people go with MOOG after market links. It'll be an easy job to replace since you still need to do your RSB anyhow.

like bearcat said, gotta replace it. if its on the car and the bolt is kind of seized on there, you'll be fine driving it for now until you can get it replaced. you might get some rattles until its fixed. had this happen during my suspension install. just replaced it and all is well. OEM end links are like $20. you could go aftermarket too. your choice.

Well, you stripped it.
No other choice lol

It's not like bulbs going out - you can't prevent that from happening; it happens lol

Actually you can take a quality set of vise grips and latch on the stud opposite side of the nut. I had to go this route with all 4 of the connections when I recently went to the Progress bar. Rule of thumb, if you plan to remove endlinks with some miles on them always have a new set on hand. They're cheap and chances are if they aren't shot the ball joint will be no where near as tight as it should be.

I used Blue Point grips but any quality set will do. I've found cheaper sets bend as you lock them down not getting the bite you need them to.
