Problems with keyless entry

I just purchased an 06 TL and I have 2 key fobs that will not remotely lock/unlock the doors or trunks. The red light blinks when I press a button so I don't think it's the batteries. I have tried to link the fobs multiple times but nothing happens. Is there a way to tell if the fobs are linked?

If they were linked your MID will say welcome "welcome driver 1" or "welcome driver 2" when you get in. And how are you programming the remotes? Try this method if u haven't already

Turn key on,press lock, turn key off
Turn key on,press lock, turn key off
Turn key on,press lock, turn key off
Lock should cycle, if not, turn key on,press lock, turn key off again then they should
When they cycle with the key still in the on position press unlock, they should cycle again then press lock again
Turn key off remove key and try buttons
