i recently purchase a 04 tl auto with 153k only bad thing it had was a blown shock now i recently got my inspection done a week ago the legit way so everything was fine two days ago i got a check light on it but went away before i got to read it and today the light next to D started blinking non stop so i turned the car off and went away but now everytime im about to turn the car on it that same light goes on and goes away quick is this normal?????

No, hardly normal. I believe the blinking CEL indicates engine misfire. Do a search and you'll find several others with the same thing you're describing.

 

no its not a blinking cel its a blicking light next to the d and i been serching but most searches are coming up in doing the 3rd and 4th pressure switch...are the the only switches on the tranny or how would i know what i have without taking it to the dealer?

I believe you are experiencing a transmission problem. You should read up on those pressure switches for 3rd and 4th gear, and look into doing a tranny fluid change (3x3). Drain 3 qrts, replace with 3qrts. Drive around cycling through all gears, then do another drain/refill of 3qrts. Drive around cycling through all gears; then do it one last time. There are many threads on what fluid you can use, and threads on pressure switches here on Azine.....the dealer may tell you that you need a new transmission. I am not saying the fluid change or pressure switches "Will" solve your problem, but from what I have read on the forum, it has helped some members.

The switches are around $80 through one of our Vendor's here on Azine.

well i purchase the switches already should receive it on monday because the dealer wouldnt have them till wednesday and the trans oil i checked it and its really low and smells like burned a nasty smell i dont know if they ever did a change on it but will be doing that tonite....yea if worst comes to worst i will have to rebuild it

 

i been searching and all the threads say the same thing but i dont notice no slips or roughness in the changes it drives smooth so ill be doing the transmission oil change tonite see if that helps then the switches on monday

 

Sorry, my bad. Hopefully, you'll be able to save it. Guessing the previous owner knew about the tranny going and traded it off before it died.
