Problem Removing One top hat
Okay so I already know how to remove the top hats but one of the tophat is giving me some trouble.
On the shock that is giving me problems we stripped the inside of where the allen key is suppose to go. I am trying to find out what solutions I have> I thought about taking it to a shop and having them use an impact gun to take it off.
Has anybody ever had this happen or know how to fix this problem.

Are you trying to save the shock, or do you intend to junk it due to it being worn or having high usage in terms of mileage?
You could use a bur bit, or dremel to cut and remove the nut. Then cut off a small piece of an allen tool end, then weld it to the stripped shock tip. You would end up with a male allen end. That would allow you to use a new nut and be able to tighten.
I'm sure you could figure something else out if the shock is already junk.
If it's not stripped too bad, you could try jamming/pounding a slightly larger torx bit into the stripped allen socket. You would mess up the torx socket a bit though. But cheap ones come in handy if you need to destroy them.
