I have a 04 TL with 133,00 miles and I am having an issue with the vents on the passenger side. I am the second owner and have had it for a few months.

The center passenger vent will blow very little air. The passenger side vent closest to the front passenger door will blow a little more air the the center passenger vent, but nothing in comparison to the driver side vents. If the mode is changed to direct the air to the floor, no air comes out of the passenger side floor vents. The air conditioning does provide cool air, but it does seem to be very weak in comparison to other vehicles. The daytime temperatures where I live are currently in the mid 70s.

I would greatly appreciate any input on these issues.

You may get more responses if you post in the 3G TL subforum! This is the 2G TL one.

Nonetheless, it could possibly be a leak somewhere between the A/C unit and the vents! You may have to make sure none of the vents are blocked internally! The A/C in these cars is nothing compared to a newer, or an American car.

Also, have you made sure the vents themselves are open? Sounds stupid, but certainly a possibility.

 

Yeah, check the directional fins which can be manually adjusted to close or divert air flow from the vent.
