Problem With Key Fob and and Doors

Hi,guy's a quick question. My alarm went off this morning for no apparent reason and when I was heading out tonight I noticed a few problems.
My passenger side doors now show that they are open on the dash and the lock function on the fob no longer works, but the unlock and trunk release are functioning properly.
Just wanted to know where should I start looking first?
Can it just be a fuse or a much bigger problem?

Thanks

door sensor is faulty or door needs adjustment to strike the sensor properly. Of course lock won't work because the car thinks the door is open.

Thanks thoboi. I tried your first recommendation and disconnected the battery. Now only the rear passenger do is ajar.
But I think I found the problem. My rear door weather strip was somewhat loose and the carpet on that side was soaked. I think the water shorted out the sensor since I took out the sensor and it was still plugged in and even when I manually push in the sensor the dash warning was still there
I'll wait a bit to see if it dries out and functions again and go from there

Thanks
