Power steering pump question 2007 type S

Iave a 2007 TL-S with 75,000 miles. It just failed inspection because the power steering pump has a slight leak Stealership wants over $800 to replace pump. They say they are not rebuildable.
Can this possibly be true?
Thanks,
Jerry

91345-RDA-A01 heres the part # for that orange o ring, that o ring fixed the leak and the annoying squealing noise for me

all you need is a 10mm box wrench if i remember correctly and like 10min to replace
try THAT first before replacing the entire unit.. also for $800 you can get a used j32 engine on ebay
if you by chance need to replace the steering pump in the future your cheapest route is going to del ray acura and buy the unit itself and use the promo code for a small discount and take it to a indie shop labor shouldnt cost more than $150

of course if you can replace the unit yourself, you'd save some money there too

As I expected. Thanks for the replies.I used to do all my own wrenching but being 73 and with a bad back has eliminated that. I will find a competent independent shop. If anyone knows someone near Newtown Square PA please let me know..

there was a recall on my 05 TL because many were leaking.. It might have been the hose. But they said I was ok. But there should be a recall on some models.

If your pump does indeed have to be changed one day, It's 1 hour labor and sourcing a different pump.

Does anyone think a rebuilt pump would be a better idea than rebuilding my own? they are available from several sources.

As little as possible. At my age I'm incapable of doing the work myself so taking a new or rebuilt pump to an independent garage seems like the best idea. I will not take it to the stealership and spend &800 o0n a pump that can be re-sealed. I'm guessing that the stearership isn't interested in rebuilding my leaking pump.

If you need it rebuilt, it best done yourself. Mechanics just don't have the time.
it's very simple job so don't let them saleman you.

procedure:
-remove drive belt
-remove feed line with one 10mm bolt
-remove high pressure line with 2 10mm bolts
-remove 2 12 or 14mm bolts holding pump to engine (preferably with a flexing ratchet wrench to avoid removing pulley)
reverse order to finish. Takes less than an hour.

Just remember the Type S pump has different valving, so be careful if you go rebuilt
or used.

Call Al's Auto Parts in Trevose,PA. They have a '07 Type S pump for $95 and do motor/transmission
installations, so give them a call 1-888-396-2199 and see if they can install, or they know someone
locally that can do the job. I've dealt with them for decades. The place is no run of the mill yard. It sits
on over 20 acres and presently they have over 300 rebuildables for sale. I just had them install a used
trans in a '05 Jeep Hemi, great job, great people.

Just rebuilt my 2005 TL steering pump and it cost me ~40 for all of the o-rings(6) and fluid. It was surprisingly easy and even if you aren't very good mechanically it should only take you 2 hours max
