has anyone run into a problem with their power steerin pump goin bad??? my car is makin a weird noise by the belt...dealer checked the belt was found to be ok..and the noise didnt come up...when i 1st start the car and its cold it makes like a high pitched whining sound...like a bearing goin bad or something...i think its the power steerin pump b/c whenever i turn the wheel it gets louder...but after the car is warmed up the noise goes away...so has anyone got n e clue???

 

check to see if your power steering fluid is full. the front seal went bad on my power steering pump which caused it to leak. Acura replaced the pump under my extended warranty.

 

I had mine replaced last week. It would whine when I turned the wheel. Thet told me that it was the idler tensioner pulley. They replaced the set.

 

yea they ordered it and they are goin to replace it under warranty...at 1st i thought it was the tensioner...but when the steerin wheel would turn and the noise got louder i figured it was the power steerin pump thanks for thr replies

 

I have had the same issue and they have replaced the pump, but I still have the whinny sound and the notchy vibration in the wheel when I start the car. Could you please tell me exactly what the replaced for you Dan...k, since every time I bring it to them, they disregard the issue stating thaey could not recreate it and I am experiencing it almost everyday.
