2007 TL-Type S Won't Start...
Well, I finally went and took the plunge. Bot myself an '07 TL-Type S. Very happy with it. No real problems except for inherent Acura squeaks. Anyway. Had it parked in my garage. Didn't move it for 2 days. Wanted to get it washed. Went to start it and nothing. Nada, zilch'. Lights, radio, all power accessories work but when I stepped on the clutch, put it in neutral turned the key. All I got was a deafening silence. Checked on here but didn't see anyone with my fluke or bad luck situation. So gave roadside assist a call. They sent a tow truck. Guy took a look. Basically did same stuff I did and pretty much was convinced was not the battery. Gave it a boost to be sure and same thing. No response. Had it towed to the dealer and 2 days later it sits there. Service called to say it had a siezed starter. Hmmm I can only hope so but thinking it could be more than that cuz when I turn the key, never even got a click.
And for the record I did try both keys incase it had something to do with immobolizer codes.. Comments? Sympathies? Any I told you so's???

i hope it's not an issue, the only manual Type S we got at my dealership was delivered by a tow truck because it wouldn't start at the train station.
we hit a few times on the starter and it worked. but sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't (like it has dead spots). i ordered a new starter (b/o of course), and another mechanic replaced it this last week. now it's ok.
we like, NEVER have starter problems even on old acuras. i noticed they are not exactly like the 04+ man TL starters. i just hope they didn't create a new flaw while changing this problem-free part.

Starter..
yeah, my cuz has had about 4/5 Acuras and said never had any real problems with them.. Thinks this was a fluke but hearing you had similar problem, something to keep an eye out for. The dealer did replace the starter. Car seems fine now, thought I still get nervous when I turn the key afraid that it won't start. We'll see...
ta2crew61 - I had exactly the same thing happen to me. Two days no driving, in the garage over the long TG weekend. Monday morning, no start, almost no lights, no radio, etc. Called the tow truck under acura care(they showed up 3 hours later). Anyway, towed to the dealer because tow truck couldn't even jump it. Dealer replaced battery on the assumption it was defective. Only thing I can figure, the salesguy told me to leave lights on auto all the time - maybe there's a current trickle-through problem?

Dealer called and said defective battery. I had them check the starter and everything since I saw ta2crew's problem. They said something wrong with the battery, wouldn't take a jump (something I already knew.)
Anyways, I'm still hesitant that there might be bigger electrical gremlins in the car. I definitely don't want to be caught again somewhere with a dead battery that can't be jumped. I will be looking into what I might be able to get on a trade....

I can't help but wonder what's going on behind the scenes that caused the manual instruction to not leave it on for long periods. Most cars these days drain a battery a lot faster than you might expect - they have too many "keep-alives" to retain various memory settings, but I would think the headlight auto-on circuit would be completely disabled unless the key was in the "on" position.
