Power Steering Problem

Bought my car, drove it for a month started getting rattling and squeaking on turns. I took it in to the dealership they told me they forgot to put power steering fluid in. Filled it up with fluid, month later same noise. the power steering fluid was gone yet again. I took it back in and there telling me they have to replace the entire power steering rack. Anyone else have a problem like this

What range is your VIN in? I remember many, many, many months ago of a few people (one or two) complaining about power steering problems but I think they were early build VIN's.

There were a few cases where I read the power steering fluid actually leaked from the car. I don't think the dealership "forgot" to put the fluid in - that's something that comes from factory. If you think about it, how else would they drive the cars off the trucks?

They probably saw a leak in it and chalked it up to a freak case so they filled it up and hoped you'd go away... but it looks like you still have the problem!

Cars been at the dealership for 2 weeks. They have changes the power steering rack that fixed the leak, however steering started jerking on turns. Now they changed the pump. Still same Problem. There changing the rack yet again. I am so sick of my TL. I am about to get a lawyer and file under the lemon law.

Check some other threads on this, I am one of the unlucky owners of one of these cars. Got rack and hoses replaced for $800 and I am still having the noise, even worse now that it is getting colder. I think there might be some air in the line, or more return hoses need to be replaced. I am pissed, if they don't come up with a solid fix here, I am out on the TL.
