Hey cellowiz,

I had that when i first got the car out the lot a few weeks ago (05 TL). Whenever i left turn, it will make a hissing sound like the hydraulics compressing or such. Don't know if it's the same noise you are hearing but...

I went back to the dealer and the guy thought the belt on the steering was stretched and said it would be a quick fix, but he later called me and told me it might be a bigger problem. In the end, he said the fluids in the power steering were backed up...so he replaced the whole thing for me haha...for free XD

Is your car part of the power steering hose recall, and was the recall work done?
See http://www.in.honda.com/Rjanisis/pubs/SB/b08-016.pdf .

If the recall work was done, some members ran into dealership service techs who re-used the old O-ring, resulting in air leaks w/symptoms like those you described.

I noticed the same problem in my recently purchased pre-owned 07 TL. The dealer did some diagnostics and said it seemed like a problem inside the steering column rack .. and replaced it (for free under warranty). Since he could not open up the sealed steering column rack, he said most likely some air was probably entering in and causing the fluid inside was getting aerated due to this.
