Possessed window? Window actuator?

I have a strong belief that my house is haunted and I've been scared to death of ghosts ever since I was a child and would wake up in the middle of the night and hear someone doing the dishes when everyone in my house was asleep.

Hoping that someone can calm my fear and help me troubleshoot why my window will not go up.

Mine does the same and I've never had it fixed.

It should function fine when not using the automatic up/down feature.

I was told it's the switch going bad.

If it's just the auto up feature, you have to relearn it sometimes. I've had to do mine once, when the battery was disconnected for a long time. Some have lost it for no apparent reason. Try the relearn if you haven't already.

Damn, that is one noisy window!! But yeah, plenty of posts about it. There might even be a TSB or something in the Service News about how to fix that, can't remember for sure.

Edit: Yup, TSB 10-014

Cool, thank you. I didn't really know what to search in regard to this issue. Sucks now when it gets in the 30s and I can't get my window up! For my passenger anyways!

Try the relearning process but if the issue is like mine it won't help.

If you figure this out please post your findings.

Turns out this only occurs when I use the automatic up function of the switch. Sounds like the recalibration process will fix it. Digging through the service manual now to figure out how to do this. Thanks everyone.

It's either the relearn which it probably is or a bad actuator. I think the load sensor (can't remember the actual name) still functions even when you're holding the button manually so if I'm right you can rule that out. If I'm wrong and it does not function when holding the button, it could be a possibility. There might just be too much of a load and it thinks something/someone is caught in the window. Maybe adjusting and lining the tract and motor mechanisms would be a cure for that. It sounds a little loose, is the window loose in its track?

I cant remember the relearn process but it's something like rolling it all the way up and all the way down several times. I think it was as simple as that. I think you have to hold the button for a second after it stops in the rolled up position. I'm sure someone around here remembers for sure.
