Please help with rattle

I have a very annoying rattle (which ones aren't?) just forward of the homelink buttons. Sometimes it's there and other times it's quiet. Usually when I'm on the freeway and hit a good bump, it will jar the rattle and make it rattle like crazy on any bump. After being parked for a few hours and/or overnight, the rattle will vanish until I hit a good bump in the road to jar it loose again. If I press on that plastic area, the rattle vanishes so I know it's right underneath that plastic piece.

I've brought it to the dealership twice and they can't fix it. To be honest, I think they never heard it (since it's not consistent) but said they worked on it. After getting the car back from the dealership, I didn't hear the rattle for a few days each time but it came back. I'm sick and tired of bringing the car in!

Does anyone know how to open up that section (marked with the yellow X) so I can get to the rattle and fix it myself? I tried to open up that area but it's pretty well sealed up.

Very irritating! Does anyone know how to open up that area? I'm scared I'll break something and make it worse if I try without some insight into what and where to pop open first.

Read over that TSB. It has nothing to do with the rattle, but it does tell you how to open it up!

Lore - YOU ARE AWESOME! May the Bears go undefeated this year! That's exactly what I was looking for. You probably saved me thousands of dollars in therapy bills that I was going to need because I was going insane over this rattle!

I opened it up pretty easily thanks to the instructions. I went and bought some weather stripping you can get at a hardware store. I put it everywhere I thought it might rattle. The rattle was gone for about three weeks but I'm now starting to hear it again so I'm going to go back in when I get the chance and put more cushion using the weather stripping.

I have the same issue. Rattle goes away with a firm swip at the console. Unfortunately, this is not an permanent solution. Wil take a look next weekend armed with weather stripping
