Passenger side mirror problem

my passenger side mirror has been acting up since yesterday. whenever i start the car or put the car on reverse, the mirror starts moving inwards until it can no longer go and it just continues to click until i press the mirror switch and move it outward again.

I've done some searching and maybe its the actuator? can anyone tell me where i can get this actuator and the part number? or do you guys have any other idea of what it might be?

If your car still has warranty just bring it to the dealer. When I first bought my car one of the mirrors didn't tilt down smoothly as if there was something stuck in the gears or something. Dealer took care of it for me though.

Move the mirror to the limit of travel (until it clicks a couple of times) in all four directions with the joystick/control pad-- that might solve your problem; I think it also re-distributes the existing grease on the mirror actuator.

can lack of grease actually make the mirror act up?

I love this thread...I have had this exact same problem and it has been replaced 2 times so far...under warranty...and it is now starting to happen again so it might be a third time to have it changed.

I had my '05 TL for a couple of weeks wondering if my TL had this feature. Then today, after setting the pass mirror, it works. I just did what Will Y suggested on the drivers side; that worked, then the pass side didn't. I did it to the pass side, now neither works.

Any other suggestions?

Are you referring to the reverse-tilt mirror feature?
If you're trying to have a mirror tilt when reversing, push the mirror selector switch to either D or P-- you can only choose one mirror to tilt.
If the mirror selector switch is left in the middle position, neither mirror will tilt.

I leave the switch on "R" so the right mirror tilts down, as I usually back family vehicles into parking spots and driveways.

There are a number of useful convenience features in the owner's manual, which is also accessible on-line if you register your car with Acura at http://owners.acura.com.
