Passenger Dash Fading

I have a 2005 TL... 13 mos. old. I live in Arizona. My passenger dash around the airbag seems to be fading already. What can I do to help protect/restore it?

Search the forums! It's not actually fading, there's a material inside the dash that is actually leaching out of the dashboard. There is an Acura service bulletin on this very issue you can find on this here board that will tell you how to fix the problem!

(Or...you can be lazy like me and take it into the dealership and tell them to clean it! hehe)

Or if you want to save time rather than going out of the way to your dealer and waiting or leaving the car, buy some 303 Aerospace Protectanct from your nearest marine/boating supply store, spray some on a towel and wipe your dash. Your dash will then look new.
303 Aerospace is available in a few auto parts stores as well; it does not contain alcohol and seems to work well, but is a little more expensive than Armorall ($8-22 depending on bottle size).
Do NOT use ArmorAll or other sprays that have alcohol, etc. in them on your car.

I have 303...use it on the boats all the time... it's also available at most marine supply stores..search for a local West Marine or Boat US store in your area (a national chain). Unfortunately, it's more of a protector than a cleaner, so it would work best once you get the faded looking stuff off of the dash, it didn't do a very good job on mine so that's why I made the dealer do it! They give me free lifetime carwashes anyhow so I had them do the dash when they were washing the car one time. It's about due again actually as it's looking like crap again, what happens is the material leaches out of the dash over time.

I have found what works really well to restore the new dash look is Mother's product called Preserves Protectant. Spray it liberally on a clean cloth and then wipe it over the whole dash. Comes out amazing. You can then wipe off the excess. You will find that you only have to apply it about every 6 - 8 weeks and it keeps the dash looking like new. At least that has been my experience.

dash fading or chalking

My dealer presented me with a can of Honda cleaner and a can of Honda presevative NC because of the service bulletin that just came out.
I have sprayed mine and let it "soak in" for a decent improvement.
