Paint not matching

Paint not matching
Ok, I know you have all heard of the paint mismatching on our Bumpers. I had a new Rear Bumper put on and painted from someone Rear ending me, The Paint is about a shade off to the rest of the car. Now my car is going in the shop tomorrow to have the front bumper repainted from paint coming off due to the self service car wash.
I will mention it to Acura that I do not want a 3 tone car. The place who did my rear bumper is the same place Acura Goes through. My question is, does the paint not Match due to the persons technique of painting it? or the Bumper?
What I pretty much want to know is, If my front Bumper color is going to be off........is it basically Too Bad Live with it? or Argue about it and have them fix it?
Thanks in Advance for any Feedback

Seems like that if the Bumper is repainted......it turns out bad. If the bumper is new.....paint doesnt turn out too bad.
Just Sucks Cause I only have 8k miles on it and already having to have front repainted and a replaced rear.

cTLgo is right. you can see the tone differences on the lighter colors especially white. i have SSM and my rear bumper is a different tone now . surprisingly my front bumper has been "cooperative". wonder how it would look like if now i barely decide to get the a-spec kit.
i tried to get one of the dealers to do something about it and he showed me one the $80K NSX that's doing the same thing. basically, he can't/won't do anything.
my suggestion, just ignore it. you can't keep the car in mint condition. this was how i felt towards my mileage. in 16 months of owning my baby and i've got 39K miles. i learned to live with it and am happy that the only things that bother me are cosmetic problems (rear bumper, leather seat, and front bumper has so many rock chips) :knockonwood:

I just had my rear bumper replaced from being rear ended also. I picked a body shop in Cinti that has a great reputation for their work, rather than the Acura dealer. Rear bumper still does not match the car. I guess I can say it looks as good as the day I bought it, the front and rear bumpers didn't match then, they don't now, so they still look the same!

Nobody mentioned that the bumper paint has to have flex additive put into the paint mix. Otherwise, the paint would easily crack when the bumper flexes. That additive can probably cause a slight color mismatch all by itself.
Also, a good paint job will be blended into the adjoining panels. This doesn't seem to be done often for bumpers. Maybe because of the additive difference. Or maybe because people are shopping for a low price on repaint (or it's through insurance).
Metallics are particularly hard to match, because the flakes in the paint won't align the same way as they did with the original paint, and they'll catch light differently.

Thanks everyone for your replies, I guess if it doesnt match I will just live with it. Seems like the more people have the bumpers repainted... the worse.
Now to be off topic. I got an 05 TSX as a loaner, Really nice car, I think it rides and handles better than the TL. Only if they would of added the Signal Blinking Mirrors on our cars. Seats are more softer also.

the signal mirrors have mixed opinions, some people like them, some don't... I could go either way...
as for the "living with it" statement... I have come to that same realization with my anthracite, not really paint mismatch, but the "shading" effect that evidently is called molting... see thread here https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/euro-english-language-119008/

So, they matched yours well. I now have the option to have my WDP bumpers repainted or I am working on replacing the car (400 miles and 1.5 weeks old) with an anthracite one.
Do you have pics of the repaint that you could post as it would really help me in figuring out what to do...
thanks-

Hello Argarre...can you tell me how you have that option? Because I have the WDP and I am supposed to go see the district manager this week...hopefully I can convince her to have my bumpers repainted.
I would appreciate a response.
