P2647 Code
Driving last night, the check engine light and the VSA lights came on. The car is throwing a P2647 code. Paul checked all the wiring and the VTEC oil pressure switch and the problem still exists.
Thoughts?

I bet Paul has access to service manual and he followed the troubleshooting steps found there.
Does the car passes VTEC test when using the scan tool? Maybe screen on the solenoid is plugged?
After removing the solenoid you should be able to give it power and check if it moves.

Any bidirectional scan tool should be able to do the test. It is simply to activate the VTEC and see how the car reacts. You might be able to probe the solenoid to check if it receives power.
I don't have access to the tool right now but pretty sure my Autel or old Snapon can activate the solenoid.
Maybe part of silicon used to reseal the pump got stuck on the screen? Never had that problem tho, despite using generous amounts.

Success!
After almost 4 hours of troubleshooting, the problem turned out to be a few really tiny pieces of beige plastic blocking the plunger that gets pushed by the VTEC oil pressure soleniod to regulate oil pressure in the oil filter/valve assembly.![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I nor Paul have any idea where these plastic pieces came from.
