P0767 Code...

My '08 TL l(automatic) let me down for the first time.....EVER.... long story short, the trans seemed to die. It gear shifter moves fine (Park to Reverse, etc.) but it wont move when in Reverse nor Drive (lower gears either). In manual mode, no gear is indicated on the dash, and the D (for drive) on the dash display keeps blinking.

*replaced trans fluid at 60,000; just about to hit 71,000 now

Any ideas or suggestions...

According to this only other post on AZ regarding that code:

https://acurazine.com/forums/photogr.../#post14609399

transmission looks toast

did you do the pressure switches and 3x3 transmission fluid drain and refill?

... drain and refill, yes... no, on the pressure switches...
... it never showed any signs of issues until this morning... no 'shutter,' no shake, no noise, no nothing... until today when it just seemed to just go out

*praying the trans aint died... 'come on solenoid, sensor, axle bearing (started to go bad and replaced on my other tl ['07] and it's still like new)... just not the trans.
$2000.00 plus is too much to put out for a 70,000 mile TIME BOMB

If it was my car I would rather pay 2k+ for a trans rebuild and get another 10 years out of the car rather than buy a new one at 35k+.

Ya... logic will prevail. Right now, I'm just emotional...!!!

I have no choice cause I REALLY don't want to start over with a payment right know, but I will be changing the 3-4 pressure switch and trans fluid every 15,000/2 years.

Any other suggestions for does with this 'rebuilt trans'???

Thats getting a new unit? Thats a bit expensive.

I rebuild them for around 1800 with a full warranty. I am sure you can find a great import Honda shop that can rebuild yours for much cheaper than a new one.

... only problem with that is all the locate shops here only warranty their work for 6 months. My fear is I would pay the 2stacks they are quoting and end up do this ALL OVER AGAIN in the next year or 2 .

The remanned gives 3 years... but that price..WOW

Regardless of what I do, it seems like a 'crap shoot' aka 70,000 mile time bomb or hopefully, I just caught the 'bad one'!?! and this one will take me 300,000 miles?!?... hope to start finding out by April

I agree with music guy, I have an '08 with 77k right now. I'd unfortunately probably pay the money to rebuild it -- I'm hoping for years with this car.

Good luck finding a good shop with good warranty :/

what about finding a used trans on ebay or craigslist and have a shop install it?
Might be the cheapest route to take.

try replacing shift solenoid D first! You can also take solenoids A-D off and clean them out to maybe try to get them working again.

It was the radiator.

The hose (metal part) where the trans fluid entered/exits (passenger side) the radiator completely came off (not sure what caused it) completely came away from the radiator.

New oem radiator went in today and flushed the trans (will flush the trans again in 1,000 miles just to be safe) and all is good... drives like it never happened .

I do apologize... I know I have seen posts on the locations of shift solenoids a-d... but I haven't been able to find any of them. Perhaps if you were to start a post about the shift solenoid locations, part numbers, and price another member could help.

Had this code pop up twice (kinda). I generally drive in the manual mode and one day I held it at around 3.5 rpms (2nd or 3rd gear) and the CEL starting flashing but went away after I shifted.

Fast forward a week or two and it came back up, but stayed on this time. Took it to a shop, had the code cleared and did a 1x3 using the new Honda fluid and it's been working fine since. Probably will do another 1x3 soon with pressure switch changes.

So did YOU put the radiator in, or a shop? What did they do to make the car work right again? (other than new coolant and atf and radiator).

I also had this happen to me last night as I was driving. Had the car towed to the dealer since it wouldn't move. I have a 2007 RDX. They just called and the transmission is fine but the transmission cooler line was corroded and broke. It flooded the radiator. Both need to be replaced. $1499 cost.
I just replaced the fuel pump and catalytic convertor 2 weeks ago for $2100. Almost don't want to do it and just by the loaner but I'm trying to stick to the plan of buying in December, so $1499 it is. I get 15% off at least so that will help a little.

Wow. Well, I ended up having to do a new tranny. $4500 local shop. (acura sourced reman) $1500 for a $100 radiator? How does that work? (rockauto has your denso radiator for 163).

Hey hope all is well?! I'm currently experiencing this code P0767 along with code P0796 which refers to pressure control solenoid 3. Could you provide the part numbers, schematics and any other info that could be helpful, please? I might just start with the 3x3 but everything is pointing to replacing the solenoid(s). Any help is appreciated. TIA!!
